We have the usual mix of in-house and agency experience, and an unusually heavy weighting towards senior consultants. However, in addition to this, team members have also founded their own tech companies, sold agencies, mentored at incubators, and spoken at numerous events.
Iain joined FieldHouse in May 2016. He works predominantly across the technology and innovation side of the business, managing clients across areas as diverse – yet interconnected – as Internet of Things, fintech, business education and entrepreneurship, and intellectual property for startups. His wider experience spans the breadth of B2B and B2C technology and corporate communications.
All of which would have seemed unlikely when Iain started his career in PR as an intern in the Sport & Leisure team at PHA Media. But an opportunity to indulge his interest in technology saw him make the short hop across the West End to Spreckley, where he worked with a range of clients, from telecoms startups to international managed IT services providers and global big data firms and network hardware vendors.
Iain then joined firstlight, working with LinkedIn and eBay on messaging development and campaign implementation. He also led thought leadership programmes for UK top 20 law firm DWF across the technology, retail, and transport sectors – and established a reputation as an amateur DJ, curating #firstlightsFridayFunk, arguably the London PR scene’s premier music mix.
Spells at WE (formerly Waggener Edstrom) – where he led a successful media tour for ZTE Mobile Devices at Mobile World Congress – and CCgroup followed, before the FieldHouse team convinced him to pin his colours to the FHA mast. Little arm-twisting was required.
Iain read Philosophy and German at the University of Oxford. An avid writer, he is seldom spotted far from his lovingly dog-eared copy of the Economist Style Guide (11th edition). Outside the office, Iain can be found playing rugby league for Brixton Bulls and scouring the capital’s indie gig circuit for the Next Big Thing.
