Salary: £23,000 to £26,000 depending on experience.
What to expect
from the role
You’ll be the “eyes and ears” of your teams, identifying, suggesting, and executing media and network opportunities relevant to your clients, and using your position as owner of ongoing account administration processes and documents to help your account leads keep everything operating smoothly.
With plenty of support from across the agency, you will develop an understanding of your clients’ business – including what they do and why it matters, their objectives, wider issues affecting them, and the role PR needs to play. You will build on your existing practical experience in media relations to support client announcements and secure opportunities, and develop a wide range of content – including messaging documents, press releases, op-eds, blog posts, rapid response comments, social media posts, and award entries.
You will have a thorough induction programme when you join, and have access to both internal and external training sessions covering everything from media relations – who, how, when, and why – to the benefits of networking (a critical part of being a FieldHouse teammate!) and a wide range of subject matter knowledge relevant to the ecosystem we move in. Like all your other colleagues, you will regularly attend relevant events, developing a sense of the potential ways in which attendance could benefit you personally, a specific client, or FieldHouse as an agency. You’ll also participate in the new business process – both informal briefings and formal pitch processes.
Every member of the team also joins one of our agency-wide working groups and gets involved in taskforces or initiatives around a particular area of agency operations, a specific client stream, or a partnership within the ecosystem.
You’ll be joining a smart, ambitious, entrepreneurial team that is driven to make real strategic and commercial impact for clients above and beyond what they expect of PR. We are true consultants – always honest, and constructively challenging where it’s needed. We work hard, but we make time to reflect, celebrate successes, and socialise as a team as well. We’re pragmatic and flexible – we don’t believe in presenteeism, just getting the job done. Healthy work/life balance is supported with a range of great benefits, from personal wellness budgets to flexible working.
A full job description can be provided on application.
Ambition and a willingness to learn are two key attributes for our AEs – you don’t need to have extensive prior knowledge of or experience in fast-growth tech or venture capital industry, but we are looking for evidence of an existing interest in the space and a desire to learn more about how it works.
Networking – with journalists and members of the wider innovation ecosystem – is a FieldHouse “must”, so you should feel confident attending events and making new connections. This will often be with colleagues, and with lots of guidance and support.
Reflecting the nature of the clients we work with – and our own status as a fast-growing scaleup – we look for people with an entrepreneurial streak, who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and aren’t fazed by sudden changes of plan.
We often work directly with partners, managing directors, and CEOs – you’ll need to aim to hold your own in a room full of senior stakeholders as you progress through the business.
Finally, you’ll be motivated by the opportunities on offer at a fast-growing agency, and want to take an active role in shaping where we go as a company over the next few years. We expect and value input from across the business – everything from ideas and angles for clients to shaping internal policies and programmes.
