FieldHouse – old foundations, new beginnings

Agency

My professional life began right at the heart of the tech ecosystem at a London-based startup, and since I first dabbled in that world, I knew I’d found my place. I was lucky to be exposed to the thriving tech community, including entrepreneurs, investors, media, and mentors early on, and I decided then that I would try to seek out the same entrepreneurial spirit, fast pace, and electric energy throughout my career. They are the things that have anchored me over the years and always kept work interesting.

I have enjoyed writing and meeting new people for as long as I can remember – two skills that lend themselves nicely to PR – and have been fortunate to work with a number of different technology companies, from large corporates to early-stage startups. However, it was when I started working with a venture capital firm supporting “tech for good” companies that my passion really came alive. I realised the true power of technology to transform people’s lives for the better, and that PR has an important role to play in terms of behaviour change and influencing key stakeholders. A far cry from the stereotypes that surround our industry, these purpose-driven, high-impact PR campaigns, working with some of the smartest minds in the world, was a community I wanted to be part of. That’s where FieldHouse and its focus on fast-growth technology and innovation companies comes into my story.

My first interview at FieldHouse was with Cordelia and Iain, and it was one of the most enjoyable interviews I have had. The conversation felt equal parts exciting and familiar – I felt like we were speaking the same language, and that was particularly evident when I discovered that Iain and I had the same client on our dream wish list! I was also impressed with Cordelia’s openness about FieldHouse’s growth plans, diversity and inclusion priorities, and company culture. The second interview was with some more of the senior leadership team, where I was met with the same warmth, humility, and attentiveness.

Joining Fieldhouse was a no-brainer for me – I’m so excited to be working with some of the most interesting tech companies, and I can’t wait to meet the rest of the team and get stuck in!
